This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Heb 6:19 (NLT)
HOPE SERIES – PART 1
If there was ever a verse that encapsulated Pocketfuel, this would be it.
It was mid-2012, and we were feeling pretty hopeless… things just weren’t happening for us the way we dreamed they would. From the outside, you could have assumed that we were doing awesomely, peachy… fantastic. But from within there was a level of brokenness that we could no longer ignore. We knew there was more for us, but we had no idea what to do. My heart was itchy, frustrated, restless… I felt like I was wasting myself away.
So we prayed. (Good move.)
Slowly, I felt God speak to us… It wasn't thunderbolts and lightening; an angel didn’t appear and write Gods message to us on the wall for all to see… the whisper of God to our hearts was like the slow and graceful dawning of a new day… the tiniest speck of light appeared, and we were all ears.
Out of these moments, PocketFuel was born. Hope was awakened.
Hope starts off as a glimmer of light. Anchor yourself to that light and it will grow into a raging fire that burns hot and bright – fuelling your motivation and lighting your path. It leads to that restful active place: your heart feels anchored, grounded, steadfast and surrounded by the presence of God, and in that place the will to act, to live, to stand up and move forward, engages.
Hope is a powerful and somewhat dangerous force. When you look at the great atrocities of the world, past and present, evil always does its best to evict hope. A people devoid of hope are devoid of the will to stand up and fight. When you're hopeless, you're not likely to step out in faith and challenge mindsets, your own first and foremost. Hope is what forces tyranny back, it's what keeps us rising day after day… it's why we never give up.
If you feel like hope is fading just look to Jesus, who is hope personified. He is our anchor in the midst of the storms and raging seas – brokenness and emptiness. He’ll keep you grounded, focused, and on track. Hope-filled.
