Love, love, love! It’s the topic of songs and movies, novels and magazine articles. Turn on the radio and they’re talking about it. Turn on the TV and all the shows are about it too. Log onto the internet and its there also, with websites for finding it!
God knows we all want to find love. Love in a romantic sense and in a belonging sense.
To feel it and to know it.
Even after negative experiences, humans still go back for more. Looking and searching for companionship either through friends, family or romance.
The yearning for love is wired deep into each one of us.
Like this verse in Colossians says, I believe it’s love that binds us together in harmony. Real love searches not to fulfil itself but to seek the highest good for others.
And this is how harmony is found – when you set aside your desires to elevate another. Just take a moment to imagine a world where every person was committed to this kind of love.
There’d be no need, no hunger, no poverty or pain… kind of sounds like heaven doesn’t it?
Love is not narrowed down to the honey-moon feeling of romance commonly depicted by main stream media, but love is gritty, self-sacrificing and resilient. It never gives up and never fails us.
Love is the picture of the cross… giving up all for the sake of others. The reality is when Jesus gave Himself up, He gained everything! The pathway to all of humanity, God’s creations created after Himself, unblocked and opened up.
Love opens the door.
Love conquers all.
